About The Position

This role involves managing an assigned book of commercial insurance business, with a focus on the trucking industry. The Account Manager will be responsible for ensuring account retention, supporting new business acquisition, and coordinating day-to-day administrative and customer service activities. This includes resolving complex issues, preventing errors or omissions, and maintaining strong client relationships. The position requires active property & casualty licensing and experience in trucking and transportation. While the role is primarily remote, candidates must reside in the Eastern (EST) or Central (CST) time zones. The company may require onsite presence for individuals within a 50-mile radius of a branch location for hybrid work, and a dedicated, distraction-free workspace is necessary for remote work. Remote work is not a substitute for personal responsibilities during working hours.

Requirements

  • Active property & casualty licensing
  • Trucking & transportation experience
  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Reside in Eastern (EST) or Central (CST) time zones
  • Have a dedicated, distraction-free workspace

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business.
  • Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities.
  • Resolve complex issues and ensure no errors or omissions.
  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Direct daily activities of the account management team.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Monitor accounts receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and any issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance.
