About The Position

The Commercial Insurance Account Manager - Trucking role is responsible for managing an assigned book of business within the trucking and transportation sector. This position ensures account retention and supports new business development by coordinating day-to-day administrative and customer service activities. The role involves resolving complex issues, maintaining data accuracy in agency management systems, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a thorough understanding of insurance brokerage and client needs, particularly within the trucking industry. This role is primarily remote, with candidates expected to be in the Eastern (EST) or Central (CST) time zones. While remote, individuals within a 50-mile radius of a branch may be required to work onsite in a hybrid capacity. A dedicated, distraction-free workspace is necessary for remote work, and remote work is not a substitute for personal responsibilities during working hours.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of account management experience, or 5+ years in the insurance industry
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
  • Required active property & casualty licensing
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Candidates must be in Eastern (EST) or Central (CST) time zones.
  • Must have a dedicated, distraction-free workspace for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business.
  • Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities.
  • Resolve complex issues and ensure no errors or omissions.
  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Direct daily activities of the account management team.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
  • Monitor accounts receivable reports and take action on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain frequent, transparent communication with the account team regarding workload status and any issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, proactively anticipate needs, and respond quickly to service requests.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek and adopt best practices to improve individual and team performance.
