About The Position

Blake Thermal Sales & Service, Inc. is seeking experienced Commercial/Industrial (C&I) burner, controls, and combustion technicians, including apprentices, for their Portland, ME location. The company is the official representative for Cleaver Brooks, Camus, and other C&I equipment manufacturers in the thermal energy industry. They are looking for technicians with a focus on advanced control systems and offer factory training, certifications, and on-the-job training. Team members are described as thermal energy & mechanically/electrically minded, self-managed, and customer-focused. Blake Thermal is a full-service thermal solutions company with a 99-year history, specializing in integrating and supplying engineered products, services, and complete thermal systems for commercial, industrial, medical, educational, and manufacturing facilities.

Requirements

  • MUST hold or be able to maintain the following certifications: Gas Service Appliance, Large Equipment Gas, Oil up to 15 GPH and Oil over 15 GPH.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License to drive rental vehicles & able to pass a DOT physical for driving fleet vehicles as required, a CDL is not required
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • All hires must complete a background check and pre-hire drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled & emergency maintenance/repair of the equipment and all other associated equipment
  • Perform installation of the equipment at customer sites as well as conducting pre-installation assistance
  • Must be available for "On Call" 24 hour emergency service rotation. Additional compensation is provided when "On Call".
  • Overtime/Double-time compensation paid for work performed outside of normal business hours.
  • Scheduled night and weekend work is sometimes required to meet customer needs.
  • Must have attitude and aptitude to develop a high level of customer service skills, as well as the ability to respond quickly to service calls with good time management and planning
  • Must work effectively with little or no supervision once trained
  • Maintain company provided equipment, tools and or fleet vehicle as per company policy.
  • Requires completion of company provided confined space & lockout/tagout training in order to work safely as part of a team
  • Responsible for the prevention and/or mitigation of any environmental impact associated with job-related tasks, accidents, and emergency situations or conditions
  • Actively promotes safe behaviors and health awareness at all times in the execution of daily tasks
