About The Position
Southland Mechanical is expanding its team and seeking skilled Service Technicians or recent trade school graduates to join their dynamic team. The company emphasizes a commitment to excellence, a customer-centric approach, and provides growth opportunities through on-the-job, online, and formal vendor training. The role involves servicing and repairing commercial HVAC systems, with different levels of responsibility and experience required for Service Tech I through IV.
Requirements
- EPA & OSHA Certifications
- Industry training and experience for certain level positions
- Attitude, work ethic, and a willingness to learn (for Service Tech I)
- Accreditations including EPA certification (for Service Tech II, III, IV)
- More than 3 years of experience in the field of HVAC service and repair (for Service Tech II)
- More than 5 years of experience in the field of HVAC service and repair (for Service Tech III)
- Extensive training and certifications from multiple manufacturers and reps
- Extensive, customer verifiable, experience with applied equipment service, maintenance and diagnostic/repair work to meet or exceed 8 years (for Service Tech IV)
Nice To Haves
- Recently graduated from an accredited trade school
- Process and/or Industrial Refrigeration experience is a bonus (for Service Tech IV)
Responsibilities
- Make repairs in the field.
- Perform preventative maintenance work.
- Maintain and service commercial grade HVAC equipment including unitary products up to 50-ton package units, boilers, and heat exchangers without supervision.
- Maintain and service commercial grade HVAC equipment, including unitary products up to 50-ton package units, boilers, heat exchangers, control valves, chillers (including retrofitting) without supervision.
- Maintain and service commercial and industrial grade HVAC equipment, including unitary products up to 50-ton package units, AHUs, VAV, VFDs, boilers, heat exchangers, control valves, air-cooled and water-cooled chillers (including tear down/rebuild processes) without supervision.
