About The Position

Kelso Industries is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician with deep expertise in commercial systems to join their service team. This role involves handling complex diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system optimization across large commercial and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical instincts, a safety-first mindset, and a proven history of delivering quality service.

Requirements

EPA 608 Universal Certification.
3 or more years of commercial HVAC experience with exposure to heavy chiller systems preferred.
Strong electrical troubleshooting capability across both low and high voltage systems.
Comfortable working independently with limited oversight.
Valid driver's license in good standing.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

Factory certifications or formal training on major chiller manufacturers.
Hands-on controls programming or commissioning background.
Prior experience in hospitals, industrial plants, or large-scale commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair all types of commercial HVAC systems including VAV, VRF, RTUs, chillers, etc.
Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing for peak efficiency.
Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.
