About The Position

A well-established and multi-branch commercial contractor specializing in Fire Suppression, HVAC, and Electrical is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Technician. This role will cover the area from Joliet to Kankakee, IL. It is a part-time position with guaranteed 30 hours per week, with the potential to become full-time. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, installing, troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment and systems. This includes, but is not limited to, RTUs, A/C units, heat pumps, cooling towers, freezers, coolers, temperature-controlled systems (like Liebert), and air handlers. The role may also involve mentoring other technicians and overseeing projects.

Requirements

EPA Universal certification
At least five (5) years of experience servicing commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment and systems
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to pass pre-employment background checks (Criminal, MVR, Physical, and Drug Testing)

Nice To Haves

Experience servicing Liebert HVAC equipment is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Inspect, install, troubleshoot, service, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment and systems.
Work with various equipment including RTUs, A/C, heat pumps, cooling towers, freezers, coolers, temperature controlled systems (i.e. Liebert), and air handlers.
Mentor technicians and oversee projects.
