About The Position

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Commercial Finance Analyst to support the commercial and financial management of customer contracts. This role plays a critical part in ensuring contract changes, price escalations, tariff adjustments, and milestone invoicing are accurately managed throughout the project lifecycle. By partnering with Sales, Customer Solutions, Project Teams, Legal, and Finance, this position helps protect profitability, support revenue recognition, and ensure successful project closeout. As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you’ll manage the financial and contractual aspects of customer projects from contract execution through final invoicing and closeout. You’ll lead change order administration, support revenue recognition activities, analyze project profitability, and collaborate across teams to ensure all contract modifications are accurately reflected in customer billing and financial reporting. Your day may include reviewing customer contract changes, coordinating pricing adjustments due to tariff or material escalations, analyzing project margins, and partnering with billing teams to prepare milestone invoices. You’ll work closely with Sales, Project Management, Legal, and Accounting to ensure contractual obligations are met, outstanding change orders are resolved, and revenue is recognized accurately. Your efforts will help safeguard profitability while supporting customer commitments and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, accounting, contract administration, or commercial finance.
  • Experience working with ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the follow-up, negotiation, documentation, and approval process for customer change orders.
  • Incorporate price escalations, tariff adjustments, and other commercial modifications into contract values.
  • Partner with Sales and billing teams to ensure milestone invoices accurately reflect approved contract changes.
  • Review and validate contract amendments, variations, and project closeout documentation.
  • Analyze contract profitability and assess the financial impact of escalations, tariffs, and scope changes.
  • Prepare variance analysis, forecasts, and commercial reports to support business decisions.
  • Develop management reporting related to contract status, outstanding change orders, and revenue exposure.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller’s team to support proper revenue recognition and accounting compliance.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities related to project contracts.
  • Develop and maintain tools, templates, and best practices for contract administration and change order processing.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes and reduce revenue leakage.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and escalate commercial risks, disputes, and compliance concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
