About The Position

PACE Supply, a leading distributor of plumbing, hydronics, and water treatment solutions, is looking for a skilled and driven Commercial Estimator to join our team at our Nampa, Idaho Branch. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving project success by preparing accurate, competitive bids for commercial plumbing projects, analyzing project drawings and specifications to determine material and labor requirements, partnering closely with Sales to align estimates with customer needs and project goals, sourcing and negotiating with vendors to secure optimal pricing and availability, and staying current on plumbing products, pricing trends, and market conditions. Requirements

High school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred. A combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge for successful job performance is acceptable.
2 years of office administration experience, preferably in the construction industry.
2 years experience with commercial plumbing products is required
Demonstrated ability to manage tasks efficiently.
Strong focus on accuracy in data entry and document management.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Willingness to work closely with team members and other departments.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience.
Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or plumbing industry.
Familiarity with estimating practices and procedures.
Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
Understanding of plumbing and finish materials and their applications.
Strong computer skills, with experience in construction-related software being a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide quotes and cost estimates for projects.
Assist in gathering, calculating, and compiling data for bid proposal estimates.
Perform quantity take-offs and enter data into the estimating system.
Participate in developing project updates and bid package estimate documents.
Maintain files of working documents for backup to estimating figures.
Perform additional assignments as directed by the Senior Estimator.
Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes.
Review quotes with immediate supervisor for completeness and conformance with plans and specifications.
Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors.
Communicate with customers to understand project requirements.
Provide timely and accurate estimates to customers.
Address any customer inquiries or concerns regarding estimates.
Maintain accurate records of estimates and project details.
Assist in monitoring preliminary estimates against actual cost data.
Generate reports as needed for management or customers.
Update pricing information and databases regularly.
Work closely with the Inside Sales team to ensure customer needs are met.
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate project requirements.
Assist in developing strategies to improve estimating processes and efficiency.
