Commercial Driver - 2nd Shift 5PM to 5AM
About The Position
Daniels Health is hiring a customer-focused Commercial Driver to collect sharps and medical waste containers from healthcare customer locations and deliver a high level of service across Maryland and Washington, D.C. The role involves operating a 26-foot box truck, handling and organizing medical waste containers, and completing scheduled deliveries safely and reliably. The position is based at 1811 Portal St, Baltimore, MD 21224. This is a full-time, direct-hire position working 40–50 hours per week on a Monday–Friday second-shift schedule, with start and end times varying between approximately 5 PM and 5 AM. The position pays a non-negotiable $29 per hour and offers a $3,000 new-hire bonus after successful completion of the probation period. Full-time employees receive benefits, sick leave, and vacation leave from day one. Overtime opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Class B driver's license, a clean driving record, and a valid DOT medical card.
- At least 3 years of experience operating a 26-foot box truck.
- Pass the 7-year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Experience conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
- Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections.
- Can-do attitude and strong customer focus.
- Proven longevity in past employment.
- Touch freight experience.

- Background in soiled linens, ice/liquor/pallets of food products, municipal waste, or medical/office equipment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C.
- Operate a 26-foot box truck safely.
- Safely collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer locations.
- Provide strong customer service and build positive customer relationships.
- Complete deliveries according to schedule and clearly communicate changes.
- Load, unload, and organize the truck according to schedule needs.
- Comply with DOT regulations, log hours, and complete roadside inspections.
- Consistently lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull a four-wheeled cart weighing up to 200 pounds.
