About The Position

Daniels Health is hiring a customer-focused Commercial Driver to collect sharps and medical waste containers from healthcare customer locations and provide service throughout Maryland and Washington, DC. The role operates a 26-foot box truck, transports and handles medical waste containers, and requires safe driving, timely deliveries, compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and positive customer relationships. The position is based at 1811 Portal St, Baltimore, MD 21224. This is a direct-hire, full-time position working 40–50 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the first shift, with varying start and end times (typically 5–8 AM to 3–6 PM). Overtime opportunities are available. Pay is a set rate of $27.00 per hour. A $3,000 new-hire bonus is offered after successful completion of the probation period. Full-time roles include benefits, sick leave, and vacation leave from day one. Daniels Health provides safety systems and regulated waste collection services for hospitals and other healthcare customers. Its services include treating and disposing of medical waste at facilities across the United States, with a focus on quality, safety, infection control, reducing needlestick injuries, and reducing customers’ environmental footprint.

Requirements

Class B commercial driver's license and a valid DOT medical card.
Clean driving record.
At least 3 years of experience operating a 26-foot box truck.
Pass a 7-year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
Experience performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections.
A can-do attitude and strong customer focus.
Proven longevity in previous employment.
Touch freight experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver throughout Maryland and Washington, DC.
Operate a 26-foot box truck safely.
Safely collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer locations.
Provide strong customer service and build positive customer relationships.
Complete deliveries on schedule and clearly communicate changes.
Load, unload, and organize the truck according to schedule needs.
Comply with DOT regulations, log hours, and complete roadside inspections.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
Consistently lift items weighing up to 50 pounds and push or pull a four-wheeled cart weighing up to 200 pounds.
