About The Position

DuraServ is seeking experienced commercial door and dock technicians who excel at diagnosing, installing, and maintaining complex systems. This role involves working independently to service and install equipment like rolling doors, sectional doors, and dock levelers, performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and using various tools for fabrication. Technicians are expected to maintain a safe job site, document all work accurately, and communicate professionally with customers. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver, technically proficient in mechanical and electrical systems, self-managed, physically capable of fieldwork, and confident in customer interactions.

Requirements

• Valid, current state-issued driver's license
• Ability to meet physical demands: regular fieldwork outdoors, frequent ladder use, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly
• A true problem-solver — finds root causes and delivers lasting solutions
• Technically fluent — hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, comfortable with welding, hydraulics, and fabrication
• Self-managed — runs their day, tools, and job site professionally
• Physically capable — regular fieldwork in varying outdoor conditions, frequent standing, bending, ladder use, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Customer-facing confident — communicates complex technical information clearly and represents DuraServ with professionalism

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent — trade school certificate or diploma accepted and valued
• Hands-on experience with welding, mechanical systems, hydraulics, or electrical work
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with commercial dock and door systems — including sectional doors, rolling steel doors, dock levelers, dock seals and shelters, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and maintain commercial dock and door equipment to manufacturer standards — rolling doors, sectional doors, dock levelers, and related systems
• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting across a wide range of equipment types — diagnose root causes, not symptoms
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to fabricate brackets, mounts, and installation hardware as needed
• Read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to guide diagnostics and repairs accurately
• Maintain a safe, clean job site and comply with all OSHA safety policies, PPE requirements, and fall protection standards
• Document all service activity with precision — work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing real-time job status updates and explaining additional service needs without overselling
• Support teammates on larger installations and remain flexible to changing schedules
