Small Business Lending, LLC. is looking to add a Credit Analyst to its team. The Credit Analyst is responsible for supporting Underwriters in managing credit risk by accurately spreading financial information, preparing initial and modified credit workbooks, and assisting with the development of credit memorandums. This role plays a critical part in the credit evaluation process by ensuring financial data is complete, accurate, and well-organized to support sound lending decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word; ability to work efficiently with financial data and templates.
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to learn and utilize financial spreading and credit analysis software.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information in a concise and logical manner.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities when reviewing financial and credit information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members and external partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Underwriters in the analysis and management of credit risk by preparing high-quality financial spreads and credit documentation.
  • Spread borrower tax returns and internal financial statements using designated spreading software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Prepare and complete assigned sections of credit memorandums for Underwriter review, including but not limited to: Business and personal credit reports, Bank and merchant statements and all required financial spreads
  • Prepare full credit memorandums for SBA microloan requests in accordance with internal policies and SBA guidelines.
  • Review and analyze tax transcripts to validate borrower-reported financial information.
  • Pull and compile due diligence reports, including RMA industry data, NHRA reports, and business and personal credit reports.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all financial and credit-related documentation prior to submission.
  • Maintain organized electronic credit files and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with Underwriters and other internal stakeholders regarding credit file requirements, findings, and follow-up items.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
