The Commercial Controller supports the USCAN CFO, USCAN Controller and partners closely with Commercial Finance, Sales, Legal, FP&A, Operations, Service, Financial Systems & Reporting, Accounting COEs, Segment Controllers and Global Controllership. The role translates complex accounting requirements into practical deal guidance, identifies risks and alternatives early, documents conclusions, and drives consistent commercial controllership processes, capability and governance across USCAN. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business field, with significant progressive accounting or finance experience in a complex multinational environment.
Qualified accountant or equivalent professional accounting credential or demonstrably equivalent technical accounting experience, with at least 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly revenue recognition, and demonstrated ability to research, analyze and document complex accounting matters.

Nice To Haves

CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualification; prior public accounting or technical accounting experience is valued.
Experience in healthcare, medical technology, industrial or other businesses with multi-element products, services and long-cycle customer arrangements.
Experience supporting complex commercial arrangements and partnering effectively with Sales, Commercial Finance, Legal, Operations and senior finance stakeholders.
Experience with GE HealthCare financial and operational processes, ERP and reporting tools, or comparable systems in another multinational organization.
Proven ability to effectively apply artificial intelligence tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to improve personal productivity or enable scalable, controlled and sustainable enterprise process improvements.
Proven ability to influence in a matrixed organization, exercise sound judgment under ambiguity and communicate difficult or sensitive conclusions clearly.
Experience leading cross-functional process improvements, control remediation, standardization or Lean initiatives.
Ability to synthesize complex issues into concise executive messages, practical actions and reusable guidance.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management and written communication skills, with high standards of integrity, ownership and attention to detail.
Experience coaching others and building technical capability across finance and non-finance teams.

Responsibilities

Lead or support controllership review of significant, complex and non-standard customer arrangements from opportunity development through contract execution and subsequent modification.
Provide timely guidance on deal structure, terms and conditions, performance obligations, pricing, delivery, installation, acceptance, services, financing, cancellation, termination, concessions and other provisions that may affect accounting or execution.
Assess revenue recognition implications under U.S. GAAP and GE HealthCare policy, including identification of accounting, control, operational and system requirements before commitments are made.
Prepare clear financial and accounting impact analyses and technical accounting memo for material or judgmental matters; obtain required regional, segment or Global Controllership alignment.
Develop compliant alternatives that support customer and business objectives without compromising accounting standards, policy or control requirements.
Maintain appropriate post-approval follow-through on key conditions, documentation and non-standard processes until the arrangement is operationalized.
Serve as the USCAN subject-matter resource for commercial accounting and revenue recognition matters, researching authoritative literature and GE HealthCare policy as needed.
Drive consistent implementation and interpretation of technical accounting policies across USCAN and escalate significant judgments, unresolved issues and emerging risks promptly.
Lead or coordinate periodic reviews of commercial accounting inputs and estimates, including standalone selling prices and other relevant rates, reserves or assumptions within the role scope.
Support quarter-end and year-end processes for significant deals, including identification of cut-off, contract asset, contract liability, remaining performance obligation and disclosure considerations.
Respond to technical accounting questions and data requests from USCAN, segment, Global Markets and Global Controllership stakeholders.
Own or coordinate a risk-based commercial controllership operating mechanism covering deal review, approvals, documentation, escalation and post-deal monitoring.
Assess commercial processes and activities for gaps against accounting standards, GE HealthCare policies, order booking requirements and internal controls; define corrective actions and sustainable solutions.
Partner with process owners to strengthen controls over contract intake, order booking, customer and channel setup, contract modifications, concessions, manual adjustments and other higher-risk commercial activities.
Monitor recurring themes, exceptions and late-stage escalations; use data and root-cause analysis to recommend preventive actions and improve deal quality at source.
Support internal and external audit inquiries relating to commercial transactions and lead timely remediation of relevant findings.
Engage proactively with Sales, Commercial Finance, Legal and Operations leaders to surface accounting and execution considerations early in the commercial cycle.
Communicate complex accounting conclusions in clear business language, setting out risks, options, required actions and decision rights.
Build alignment across segments and functions where transactions span products, service offerings, legal entities, channels or reporting units.
Identify and communicate commercial controllership risks and opportunities to the USCAN Controller and relevant finance leadership.
Develop and deliver practical training for Controllership, Commercial Finance, Sales and other Finance and non-Finance stakeholders on revenue recognition, order booking and related commercial controllership requirements.
Create and maintain playbooks, decision trees, templates and examples that improve consistency, speed and auditability of deal reviews.
Lead USCAN or Global standardization, simplification and Lean initiatives that reduce manual touch points, clarify accountability and improve upfront risk management.
Partner with Financial Systems & Reporting and process teams on system or data improvements that strengthen commercial accounting, controls and visibility.
Coach controllership and finance colleagues on complex deal analysis and technical documentation; contribute to broader USCAN Controllership talent development.
