Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field. In lieu of a degree, or experience is considered.
  • Five years of experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites.
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
  • Familiarity with Life Safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate for a positive solution.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and ensuring the coordination of construction projects.
  • Supervising the entire construction project, ensuring that the quality of work and materials is maintained, and that the project stays within the planned budget.
  • Overseeing all site operations, ensuring that subcontractors follow the design plans accurately.
  • Monitoring the workers and tracking project progress.
  • Reporting to the project manager.
  • Accountability for all activities on the construction site and ensuring that the project is completed on time, with installations adhering to specifications to meet the expectations of the owner, architect, and engineers.
  • Understanding and knowledge of site work, concrete, steel structure, roof, underground utilities, perimeter exterior walls, MEP components, and interior building construction.
  • Being on the construction site constantly ensuring all aspects of construction meet standards and guidelines.
  • Implementing the company’s safety policy to field employees and subcontractors daily.
  • Scheduling subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Performing quality control regarding the work being performed.
  • Ensuring that the reports, records, timesheets, and other documents adhere to company policy and procedure.
  • Communicating with project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s, and Material Submittals.
  • Ensuring that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinating required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Identifying subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Identifying conflicts in construction progress and communicating them to project team for resolution.
  • Maintaining a detailed daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite to include pictures.
  • Performing Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously if required.
  • Ensuring subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
  • Walking all scope installed daily on your project to monitor activities, confirming schedule is met and projecting future project activities.
  • Preparing, presiding, and keeping weekly sign in sheets for subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
  • Issuing notices of non-compliance to subcontractors for quality of work or scheduling.
  • Ensuring that the job site is always kept clean daily and organized.
  • Performing job progress reports daily.
  • Pre-punch, and completion punch list for completion of project.
