About The Position

We are a leading non-union Employee-Owned commercial drywall, acoustic ceiling, paint and wall covering subcontractor serving general contractors, developers and owners across the Colorado market. Our focus is on large projects consisting of ground-up or remodel of office / medical / healthcare / education / hospitality and retail buildings. The Construction Project Manager Lead/Estimator is responsible for managing the lifecycle of commercial projects, from detailed estimating and bid preparation to full project execution. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the field, managing subs, have an eye for numbers, and a heart for leadership. This position is structured with a clear growth path into an executive management leadership role, for candidates who demonstrate excellence in operational execution, leadership, and strategic contribution.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years in drywall/acoustic and paint project management and estimating (commercial only).
  • Proficient with takeoff and estimating software (OST, Excel or similar).
  • Comfortable using project management tools (Procore, Autodesk, Bluebeam, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, drywall assemblies, codes, and sequencing.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering complex, multi-phase projects on time and under budget.
  • Exceptional organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and solve problems under pressure.
  • Strong references from past clients, employers, or general contractors.
  • Interest in business operations, finance, or scaling construction teams.

  • Field experience or background in framing/drywall installation

Responsibilities

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and RFPs for scope alignment.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs for framing, drywall, ACT, paint and wallcovering.
  • Attend pre-bid walkthroughs and client meetings.
  • Identify and pursue value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
  • Prepare comprehensive bids, proposals, and scope clarifications.
  • Present final proposal to upper management for review and final quote.
  • Upon award, review letter of intents, contracts and confirm compliance with the proposal presented.
  • Lead project startup meetings, schedules, and manpower planning.
  • Coordinate material procurement, subcontractor onboarding, and field supervision.
  • Manage RFIs, submittents, purchase orders, change orders, and pay applications.
  • Ensure all fieldwork aligns with safety, quality, and budgetary standards.
  • Resolve site issues quickly and effectively through proactive communication.
  • Mentor assistant PMs, estimators, and junior staff to grow internal talent.
  • Collaborate directly with executive leadership on business strategy and client retention.
  • Take ownership of key accounts and high-value projects.
  • Help identify new market opportunities and shape future service offerings.
