About The Position

The Commercial Credit Construction Summer Intern supports the Construction Lending team’s day-to-day operations while learning how commercial construction projects are monitored, funded, and administered. Working alongside Construction Portfolio Managers, Internal Inspectors, and department leadership, the intern helps maintain accurate project information and supports lending activities throughout the construction project lifecycle. The role provides hands-on exposure to commercial construction lending, portfolio management, commercial real estate financing, loan administration, reporting, and compliance support.

The intern also collaborates with interns from across the Bank on summer projects addressing real business challenges, developing recommendations, and presenting work to organizational leadership. The internship is designed to build analytical, organizational, problem-solving, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills in a professional banking environment.

Requirements

• Be a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Commercial Real Estate, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Professionalism and willingness to learn.
• Interest in commercial lending, construction finance, or real estate development.

Nice To Haves

• Experience creating or updating Excel macros.
• Coursework related to finance, real estate, accounting, project management, or construction.
• Interest in pursuing a career in commercial banking, credit, real estate, or construction finance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining construction loans in Construct, the Bank’s cloud-based construction loan management platform.
• Review loan and construction documentation to support the onboarding and management of construction projects.
• Update and maintain construction project budgets and related project information.
• Participate in the construction requisition and inspection process.
• Support the management and distribution of department communications and inbox requests.
• Retrieve documentation needed for audits, reviews, and ongoing compliance activities.
• Create reports and summaries for the Construction Team Manager and department initiatives.
• Help ensure construction loan information is accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Collaborate with fellow interns on summer projects and present project work to organizational leadership.
