About The Position

Lead Code Compliance. Strengthen Greensboro. Safe, well-maintained buildings and neighborhoods don’t happen by accident. They depend on knowledgeable professionals who can balance technical expertise, consistent enforcement, problem-solving, and respectful service to the community. As the Commercial Code Compliance Supervisor, you’ll lead a team of up to seven full-time employees responsible for a high-volume, highly visible portfolio of code compliance work across Greensboro. With approximately 1,000 active cases each month, you’ll help ensure that concerns are investigated thoroughly, enforcement actions are consistent, and cases move toward meaningful resolution. This is a leadership role for an experienced code compliance professional who understands that effective enforcement is about more than identifying violations. It’s about protecting health and safety, preserving property and neighborhood quality, supporting responsible development, and helping property owners understand what is needed to achieve compliance. You’ll combine field and office leadership with technical oversight, operational planning, data analysis, staff development, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Your work will directly support Greensboro’s commitment to sustainable, safe neighborhoods and its strategic focus on public safety, infrastructure, and economic development.
