About The Position

This role is responsible for daily account servicing and client advisement needs, including handling client and insurance company inquiries, resolving coverage and premium discrepancy issues, maintaining accurate account information in the agency management system, and processing endorsements, audits, certificates of insurance, and auto ID cards. The position also involves cultivating and maintaining excellent communication and relationships with clients and insurance carriers, interacting professionally via email, phone, and in-person. A key responsibility is managing the renewal process for an assigned book of business, which includes preparing pre-renewal summaries, creating renewal applications and submissions, online quoting, reviewing and negotiating terms, preparing final quotes, binding coverage, and issuing renewal documents. The role also entails participating in cross-selling new lines of coverage or services and following up on accounts receivable. Continuous learning through education classes and study programs is expected to expand technical coverage knowledge.

Requirements

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently regarding matters of significance.
  • Ability to manage more complex accounts.
  • Ability to analyze insurance quotes and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of policy forms and endorsements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Math skills required, involving familiarity with ratios, percentages, discounts, and commissions.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products.
  • Minimum 2 years of similar or related experience.
  • Property and Casualty license will be required for state of business and must fulfill continuing education requirement to retain license.

Responsibilities

  • Develops remarketing strategy in accordance with client servicing standards and market changes.
  • Manages the renewal process on assigned book of business, including preparation of pre-renewal summary, creating renewal applications and submissions, online quoting, reviewing quotes and negotiating terms and premiums, preparing final quotes and proposals, binding coverage, and issuing renewal invoices, certificates, and auto ID cards.
  • Participates in conference calls and/or periodic in-person client meetings to review insurance strategies and business operations.
  • Participates in cross-selling new lines of coverage or services on existing accounts.
  • Follows up on accounts receivable items in accordance with IMA Accounts Receivable Policy.
  • Attends education classes and participates in individual study programs to expand technical coverage knowledge.
