About The Position

The Procurement and Payment Services (PPS) team serves The University of Texas at Austin as a trusted partner, providing integrated procure-to-payment support, and strategically addressing sourcing, contracting, revenue generating opportunities and payment needs, while safeguarding for the highest-level of qualified and varied supplier performance. This role serves as a senior analytical resource for the Commercial Card Program, driving data-informed decision-making, compliance monitoring, and process improvement. The work is meaningful and has a significant impact on the university's operations and the student experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, audit, procurement, or commercial card program administration.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Class "C" operator's driver's license.
  • Must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.
  • If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts in-depth analysis of commercial card transaction data, spend patterns, and program KPIs.
  • Develops and maintains recurring KPI/KPR reports, identifies trends and input to inform procurement strategies, and prepares detailed reports and presentations for program leadership.
  • Conducts program audits and analyzes commercial card transactions for compliance with university policy, procedure, and state regulation.
  • Investigates unusual purchasing patterns, recommends corrective actions, and compiles audit findings into actionable reports.
  • Supports efforts to implement the banking expense management platform, including hierarchy troubleshooting, database maintenance, and data governance.
  • Evaluates and recommends technology solutions, such as automation and analytics tools, to improve program efficiency.
  • Supports current bank platform, hierarchy management, commercial card operations.
  • Partners with the AVP and program leadership on process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and special projects.
  • Supports change-management efforts and documents standard operating procedures.
  • Serves as a liaison to campus stakeholders, vendors, and financial institution partners.
  • Prepares correspondence, training materials, and communications supporting program initiatives.
  • Expected to follow the Procurement Services communications pipleline for all cardholder comms.
  • Must understand that commercial card program is a key part of overall procurement process and strategy.
  • Actively pursues professional development and relevant certification (e.g., CPCP).
  • Participates in cross-functional committees and stretch projects designed to build readiness for future program leadership responsibilities.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
