About The Position
Pond & Company is seeking an experienced Commercial Building Inspector to join its Infrastructure team for a complex, long-duration, field-focused assignment in outer Georgia. The inspector will serve as a third-party building inspector on an active construction site. The work is primarily performed in the field, with office staff supporting report processing and filing.
Requirements
- Active ICC commercial inspection certification(s) appropriate to the role.
- Ability to work comfortably and independently on a large, active construction site.
- Ability to communicate professionally with contractors and project teams.
- Comfort using tablets, photos, and digital reporting tools.
- Ability to traverse a job site, potentially walking over uneven terrain and climbing stairs, ladders, or scaffolding, and accessing tight or elevated spaces.
Nice To Haves
- Commercial or industrial field inspection experience.
Responsibilities
- Review daily inspection requests and coordinate priorities with the inspection lead.
- Perform field inspections across active construction areas and clearly document results.
- Inspect foundations, framing, rated assemblies, MEP rough-in, cover-up work, accessibility, life-safety items, and final work, as appropriate to certification and assignment.
- Document partial approvals by building, area, or grid.
- Communicate deficiencies and reinspection needs.
