About The Position

Brudis & Associates, Inc. (BAI), a multidisciplinary engineering firm serving public and private sector clients in the Maryland, Virginia, and District of Columbia region, is seeking a full-time Building Inspector to support construction activities at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport and Martin State Airport. The role performs inspections and drawing reviews related to mechanical and plumbing systems, documents construction progress and deficiencies, and may include other duties as required by the client. The position requires adherence to Maryland Aviation Administration COVID-related and security/safety protocols. Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience, or a minimum of ten years of equivalent experience.
Experience inspecting commercial architectural, structural, and interior finishes.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good computer skills.
Adherence to Maryland Aviation Administration COVID-related and security/safety protocols.

Nice To Haves

Construction trade experience related to commercial gypsum wall board assemblies, ceilings, insulation, roofing, and miscellaneous metals.

Responsibilities

Inspect installation of mechanical and plumbing systems to ensure they conform to construction documents and permits.
Document construction improvements using digital Inspector Daily Reports, including photographs, correction items, and deficiencies.
Review mechanical and plumbing construction drawings.
Perform other duties as required by the client.
