Assumes the primary responsibility for managing existing and growing commercial banking relationships. This role involves interviewing customers and prospective customers to identify loan and deposit opportunities, developing and enhancing banking relationships with commercial customers by selling loan, deposit, and fee products/services. It also includes collecting and analyzing financial data for proper loan structure for presentation to the loan committee, managing the commercial calling program for existing customers, and assisting senior team members with new business development activities. The position is also responsible for negotiating customer loan documentation and facilitating loan closings in conjunction with a senior team member. Additionally, it involves carrying out business development activities to identify bank prospects and develop key centers of influence, collaborating with the commercial banking team and credit to prepare new loan requests, prescreens, and committee presentations, and ensuring compliance with existing loan policies and procedures. The role also requires working with product partners like Treasury Management and Private Banking to establish products/services for commercial customers, responding to customer questions, and collaborating with Portfolio Managers to manage the existing loan portfolio. This includes monitoring and documenting the performance of the loan portfolio through call memos, site visits, financial collection/review, annual reviews, and business development plans, as well as monitoring maturing loans and exceptions, and managing loan payment delinquency.
