About The Position

Commercial lending decisions only work when valuation and environmental risk are accurate, timely, and defensible. In this role, you sit at the center of that process—making sure every commercial appraisal and environmental report is complete, compliant, and usable for credit decisions. If you like work that blends analysis, vendor coordination, and regulatory precision, this is a high-impact seat in the lending operation.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • Active real estate appraisal certification/licensing (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of commercial valuation methods (cost, income, and market approaches)
  • Familiarity with building fundamentals, zoning, land use, and market drivers
  • Experience using or interpreting Courthouse STEB reports, Marshall & Swift, MLS systems, or similar tools
  • Strong analytical ability with comfort reviewing technical third-party reports
  • Clear communication skills—you can translate technical findings into usable credit insight
  • High attention to detail and confidence working in a regulated environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial appraisal and environmental report process from request through final review, ensuring timely completion and a smooth experience for lending teams.
  • Deliver thorough, compliant reviews of commercial appraisals and environmental reports, identifying valuation or risk concerns before credit decisions are made.
  • Build strong partnerships with underwriters and commercial lenders by providing timely guidance on appraisal findings, environmental risks, and property valuations.
  • Maintain a high-performing network of approved appraisers and environmental vendors while monitoring quality, responsiveness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure the Bank's appraisal and environmental processes consistently meet regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
  • Improve operational efficiency by coordinating activities across lending, underwriting, and operations while keeping appraisal and environmental workflows moving forward.
  • Maintain accurate financial records by completing monthly general ledger reconciliations related to appraisal and environmental activities.
  • Contribute to the continued strength of our commercial lending operation by supporting department initiatives, process improvements, and special projects as business needs evolve.
