About The Position

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Commercial Account Executive to join our team at ThoughtSpot. The right candidate will have a demonstrated history of success selling software & services, ideally within Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Analytics, or adjacent data/AI-driven markets. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is excited to represent an evolving, AI-powered platform that delivers tangible value to both technical and non-technical users. You are energized by innovation and comfortable leveraging emerging technologies - including generative AI - to enhance how you sell, engage, and win. A value-based sales approach, combined with a “first on the ground” mindset, is a strong advantage.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of quota-carrying experience in a technology sales environment (inside sales experience a plus)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
  • Experience or interest in leveraging AI tools (e.g., generative AI, sales automation platforms, data insights tools) to enhance productivity and performance
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to close deals typically $50K+
  • Strong presence and executive communication skills; able to command attention and build credibility quickly
  • A natural ability to influence and align stakeholders around a shared vision and customer outcome
  • Growth mindset with a desire to continuously learn, experiment, and adopt new technologies and approaches
  • Comfort using data and metrics (including AI-driven insights) to track performance and inform decision-making
  • Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in a rapidly evolving, AI-driven technology landscape
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
  • Exposure to BI, analytics, or data platforms
  • Experience working in or alongside AI-powered or data-driven product environments
  • Comfortably and confidently integrate artificial intelligence into their daily workflow to increase productivity and quality.
  • Hands-on experience to leverage AI tools (industry-leading LLMs) to increase productivity, automate routine tasks, and improve work quality.
  • Speak to the experience of using AI for research, content creation, and document summarization while maintaining ownership of judgment and final decisions.
  • Write effective prompts to get the most accurate and creative results from AI tools.
  • Curiosity in exploring new AI tools
  • Adaptability to quickly learn and implement new, emerging AI technologies
  • Critical thinking to know when to identify when AI should be used versus when human judgement is necessary

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a territory of “Digital Native” Commercial accounts, with a primary focus on winning net-new ThoughtSpot customers.
  • Pipeline generation is the lifeblood of this role - we’re looking for individuals who proactively prospect and embrace modern, tech-enabled selling strategies.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline through a combination of outbound prospecting, inbound conversion, and AI-assisted lead prioritization
  • Leverage generative AI and automation tools to personalize outreach, accelerate research, and improve conversion across the funnel
  • Develop new opportunities and establish trust with end-users, influencers, and decision-makers across your accounts
  • Conduct compelling product demonstrations (in-person and virtual), translating complex, AI-powered capabilities into clear business value
  • Manage deal cycles from initial engagement through close, leveraging data-driven insights to guide strategy and next steps
  • Utilize AI-powered tools to analyze customer signals, engagement trends, and competitive positioning to refine your approach in real time
  • Continuously experiment with emerging technologies (e.g., conversational AI, sales automation tools, and predictive analytics) to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver a seamless, insight-driven customer experience
