About The Position

This position is for a Comfort Splint 3D Technician who will learn the fundamentals of dental morphology and anatomy. The role involves fabricating and repairing various dental prostheses and appliances, including dentures, partials, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers, and implant restorations. The technician will learn to interpret dental prescriptions and become familiar with a wide range of materials such as precious and non-precious metals, porcelain, composite, acrylic, polyurethane, co-polyester, and thermoplastic materials. The position requires developing technical knowledge to make decisions during fabrication and potentially learning to construct partial or full dentures. The technician will also familiarize themselves with and practice using various hand tools and equipment like electric drills, presses, lathes, and high-heat furnaces. Learning will be documented through quizzes and worksheets, and the technician will work under supervision, seeking assistance when needed. They will also learn quality standard protocols, how to ensure compliance, and how to identify problem cases requiring additional preparation. The goal is to develop the ability to work independently while knowing when to seek help.

Requirements

  • Basic dental training.
  • Hand and finger dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Learn basic tooth morphology and anatomy.
  • Fabricate and repair dental prosthesis and dental appliances such as dentures, partials, crowns and bridges, inlay/onlay, veneers, and implant restorations.
  • Read and interpret dental prescriptions.
  • Become familiar with a wide range of materials and their use in fabricating dental restorations.
  • Restore natural teeth and correct dental irregularities by manufacturing fixed or removable appliances.
  • Develop technical knowledge to make decisions when fabricating dental prosthesis.
  • Replace partial or total loss of natural teeth by constructing partial or full dentures (metal and non-metal).
  • Familiarize self with names and functions of various types of hand tools and equipment.
  • Practice using various types of hand tools and equipment.
  • Document learning by completing quizzes and worksheets.
  • Work under supervision of trainers, and ask for assistance and/or clarification regarding technical issues.
  • Learn quality standard protocol, and steps taken to ensure compliance with protocol.
  • Learn to recognize problem cases that need additional prep work.
  • Learn to work independently and seek help if needed.
