Our Co-op Program is a transformative experience designed to help you grow, connect, and take the next step in your professional journey. Comcast Business (CB) is the commercial arm for Comcast Cable. We serve 2.7M+ business customers across various industry verticals and sizes (SMB, Mid-Market, Enterprise). The Comcast Business (CB) Strategy and Development team is leading growth efforts to accelerate on M&A, formulate strategic partnerships, drive the Data Center interconnectivity partner program, and bolster Sales and Product efforts via well-informed strategies and research. The team answers “what’s next” for Comcast Business by developing strategies to execute acquisitions and partnerships in new growth areas. We also source, evaluate, and advocate for inorganic growth opportunities that accelerate our core business or secure footholds in emerging areas (i.e., AI) for the commercial arm. As a Co-op on the CB Strategy and Development team, you will help with the identification and evaluation of various partnership and M&A opportunities, drive research & build business cases into select industry focus areas for the team (e.g., connectivity & networking products, digital infrastructure, data centers, UCaaS, managed IT services, etc.), and aid in M&A integration efforts. These projects and initiatives will provide the Co-op participant an opportunity to directly contribute to the Comcast Business inorganic growth pipeline, as well as exposure to decision makers and trends across the enterprise. What are some interesting problems the student will work on? The Co-op will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects, with deliverables to include power point decks, competitive assessments, executive & cross-team stakeholdering, financial analyses, presentation & narrative development, strategic insights. The direct manager and team will work with the RLP to understand their interests and skillsets to ensure they are working on the appropriate deliverables. Below are select examples of projects underway: Strategic partnerships identification and evaluation to inform new products and add to the M&A pipeline. Developing strategic points of view on new growth spaces to inform M&A and partnership pipelines. Integration of recent acquisitions (e.g., Nitel); multi-workstream, org-wide integration across domestic & int’l sales, account management, back-office IT, products, etc. Ongoing partnership evaluations & discussions with top Telco/MSO companies, cybersecurity, enterprise IoT, data center & AI infrastructure service providers, vertical-specific AI companies, etc. Where can this student make an impact? Co-op will be charged with presenting analysis and insights and will play a critical role in identifying and establishing hypothesis driven problem statements, quantifying / qualifying supporting details, business case building, and making concrete recommendations. Our projects will provide the Co-op participant with exposure to the digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, and AI ecosystems through numerous conversations with startups, enterprises, VC investors, and experts. We work in a highly collaborative fashion, with great efficiency. There will be ample opportunity to network within the department, Comcast Corp. overall, and especially externally across the Data Center, IoT, managed IT services, and AI industries due to the nature of the work.
