About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking Combo Welders for work in the Cameron, Louisiana area. The Welder lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, including tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe, and building and bridge parts. This is a non-exempt role reporting to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. The schedule is 6/10s. A $735 per week per diem is available to workers who live at least 50 miles from the jobsite. RMD Welders are paid $60 per hour, and weld incentives are available for qualified welds. Final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
At least four years of experience in the specified skill.
Must pass a weld test before being hired.
Must be certified as a welder.
Must complete a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Select equipment and plan the layout, assembly, and welding work.
Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
Set up equipment and weld parts.
Assemble parts by bolting and riveting when needed.
Weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets, and other materials using processes such as arc, heliarc, gas, MIG, and TIG.
Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
Use a cutting torch to cut materials and demolish existing assemblies when needed.
Comply with company and client jobsite safety requirements.
