About The Position

This role is for a Combination Welder/Pipefitter/Fabricator in a shop environment. The position requires the ability to create welds according to drawings, specifications, codes, and standards, ensuring they meet acceptability criteria. The individual will also serve as a multi-craft mechanical resource within the Field Services team, performing a variety of tasks related to rotating equipment and piping. This includes removal, installation, and maintenance of rotating equipment, baseplates, piping, and valves. Additionally, the role involves construction or replacement of rotating equipment pedestals and performing minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. Safety and compliance with company and customer policies are paramount.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or trade school certification in craft preferred, but equivalent experience in welding and general mechanical maintenance/projects/turnarounds will be considered.
  • Strong, hands-on background in welding of plate, piping (including small bore) and structural components, including carbon steel and stainless steel (where applicable), using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW welding processes and equipment, with GTAW and SMAW being the most commonly utilized.
  • General knowledge of mechanical maintenance/project tasks including boilermaker activities, pipefitting, flange make-up and bolt torquing, etc.
  • General knowledge of millwright activities including rotating equipment installation, bearing installation/replacement, seal installation/replacement, shaft alignment, etc.
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial welding/pipefitting/fabricating experience in the shop is desired, but will consider lesser experience depending upon individual.

Responsibilities

  • Create welds in accordance with drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and meet acceptability criteria.
  • Prepare components to be welded using appropriate power and hand tools.
  • Work as a multi-craft mechanical resource within the Field Services team.
  • Perform rotating equipment removal and installation.
  • Perform rotating equipment baseplate removal and installation.
  • Perform rotating equipment maintenance activities.
  • Perform piping removal and installation.
  • Perform valve removal and installation.
  • Perform rotating equipment pedestal construction and/or replacement.
