About The Position

This role involves creating welds according to drawings, specifications, and applicable codes, ensuring they meet acceptability criteria. The position requires preparing components for welding using appropriate tools and functioning as a multi-craft mechanical resource within the Field Services team. Typical work scopes include removal and installation of rotating equipment, baseplates, piping, and valves, as well as construction or replacement of rotating equipment pedestals. The role also includes performing minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment, and observing all safety and environmental rules and company policies.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or trade school certification in craft preferred, but equivalent experience in welding and general mechanical maintenance/projects/turnarounds will be considered.
  • Strong, hands-on background in welding of plate, piping (including small bore) and structural components, including carbon steel and stainless steel (where applicable), using GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW welding processes and equipment, with GTAW and SMAW being the most commonly utilized.
  • General knowledge of mechanical maintenance/project tasks including boilermaker activities, pipefitting, flange make-up and bolt torquing, etc.
  • General knowledge of millwright activities including rotating equipment installation, bearing installation/replacement, seal installation/replacement, shaft alignment, etc.
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial welding/pipefitting/fabricating experience in the shop is desired, but will consider lesser experience depending upon individual.

Responsibilities

  • Create welds in accordance with drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and meet acceptability criteria per ASME Sec IX and customer specifications.
  • Prepare components to be welded by utilizing appropriate power and hand tools.
  • Work as a multi-craft mechanical resource within the Field Services team, with typical work scopes including rotating equipment removal and installation, rotating equipment baseplate removal and installation, rotating equipment maintenance activities, piping removal and installation, valve removal and installation, and rotating equipment pedestal construction and/or replacement.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and environmental rules and requirements and all applicable company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
