About The Position

This role requires a skilled Combination Welder Journey to perform welding tasks and assist in component installation. The position involves applying technical knowledge and practical welding skills, ensuring proper fit-up and alignment of components. Familiarity with SMAW and GTAW processes, as well as the use of various tools for preparation and cleanup, is essential. The welder will also be responsible for tack-welding components, performing front-line examinations of welding work, and adhering to all safety procedures.

Requirements

• Must possess the necessary skill sets to pass the pre-employment welding examination.
• Must be familiar with the equipment required to perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) processes.
• Verifies position of metal components in assembly, using straight edge, combination square, calipers, and rule.
• Must be familiar with weld acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Pass the pre-employment welding examination.
• Apply technical knowledge and practical welding skills.
• Assist in component installation, fit-up, and alignment.
• Utilize conventional tools for preparation of welding and clean up (Grinders, buffers, file, chipping hammer, etc.).
• Tack-weld components to secure in position for welding.
• Perform front-line examination of the welding work performed.
• Adhere to all safety procedures.
