About The Position

Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Early Career Combat System Installation Engineer. In this role you will provide assistance/resolution to Engineering, Detail Design, and Field Engineering Groups (Lockheed Martin, Government, and Government Contractors) related to equipment installation and design issues. Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications, and recommend actions to company or customer representative for coordinative product solution. Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations. Witness the shipboard load-outs of combat systems equipment. Conduct inspections of combat system equipment and cabling during installation to identify problems and provide solutions. Provide combat system engineering in the area of ship support systems (e.g. chilled water, sea water, electronic dry air, PAO, 400Hzm etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
  • Knowledge of interface protocols, system design criteria, equipment interactions, major signal flows, and shipbuilding specifications.
  • Ability to read and comprehend production drawings.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience as an installation engineer in ship repair facilities or equivalent industrial environments.
  • Preferred operational experience in the Aegis fleet.
  • Experience with providing technical leadership and working in a multi-organization team to accomplish a common goal.
  • Preferred ability to read and comprehend military specifications for electrical and optical cable, connector, backshell, and system design, integration, and testing.
