Full-time position available. Monday – Friday
Exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with our colorectal surgery team of surgeons, residents, advance practice providers (APP’s) and secretarial staff to manage the colorectal surgery outpatient population. Candidate must possess strong communication skills, have a high level of clinical competency, demonstrate flexibility and have a firm team work ethic. Will be working in our specialty clinics- colorectal anal physiology (CPC), anal- rectal disorders, and Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colorectal cancer. Responsibilities will include assisting surgical attending providers with outpatient clinic management, and run an independent clinical practice. Emphasis on evaluation, implementing a treatment plan and follow up care of the surgical patient from the preoperative phase through post hospital recovery. Must be New York State eligible for NP/PA certification for independent billing.

Requirements

• Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner (for NP role).
• Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing (for NP role).
• Active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing (for NP role).
• Current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner (for NP role).
• Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program (for PA role).
• Active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing (for PA role).
• Current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (for PA role).
• Strong communication skills.
• High level of clinical competency.

Responsibilities

• Manage the colorectal surgery outpatient population.
• Assist surgical attending providers with outpatient clinic management.
• Run an independent clinical practice.
• Evaluate, implement a treatment plan, and provide follow-up care for surgical patients from the preoperative phase through post-hospital recovery.
• Participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing, and skill training.
