About The Position

The Surgical Advanced Practice Provider team provides 24/7 front-line inpatient and consultative support to surgical patients at the King of Prussia Hospital. The Surgical APP cares for patients in Otolaryngology (ENT), Plastics, Urology, and Neurosurgery, and provides procedural support—including laceration repair—in a consultant role for the hospital and emergency department. Orientation takes place at both the Philadelphia campus and King of Prussia Hospital. The position includes off-shift responsibilities; rotation may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the clinical needs of the practice. Under the supervision of or in collaboration with an attending physician, the Advanced Practice Provider delivers direct care to patients within their scope of practice and skill set in defined inpatient and procedural areas. The role includes clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and research. Clinical responsibilities involve increased accountability, including management of a cohort of high-acuity patients and, as required, use of invasive interventions and procedures to promote physiologic stability. The King of Prussia Hospital cares for acutely ill, surgical, and injured patients from surrounding communities, as well as specialized patients previously cared for at the University City campus. The hospital aims to provide high-value care through appropriate alignment of resources while meeting the needs of patients, families, and staff.
