About The Position

The athletic coach instructs athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes self-discipline, character development, and school pride. They report directly to the Athletic Director and ensure all activities comply with district, state, and conference regulations.

• Instruct athletes in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Foster an inclusive environment that promotes self-discipline, character development, and school pride.
• Ensure all activities comply with district, state, and conference regulations.
• Supervise student-athletes at all times, including practices, games, locker rooms, and on travel.
• Monitor academic progress and conduct of student-athletes.
• Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, administration, and the media.
• Maintain an inventory of uniforms and equipment.
• Assist with facility preparation.
• Foster good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct daily practices and lead the team during competitions, including weekend tournaments.
• Teach fundamental and advanced skills, strategies, and proper conditioning to optimize performance.
• Ensure the safety of student-athletes by supervising them at all times, including practices, games, locker rooms, and on travel.
• Monitor the academic progress and conduct of student-athletes, emphasizing that "student" comes before "athlete".
• Maintain clear communication with parents, staff, administration, and the media regarding schedules and expectations.
• Maintain an inventory of uniforms and equipment, and assist with facility preparation.
• Act as a positive role model, fostering good sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.
