About The Position

This position is for an Assistant Coach for Football for the 2026-2027 season. It is a coaching role within the athletics department. The hiring process involves obtaining an Athletic Coaching Certification from the Florida Department of Education, applying through the district's website, and completing an orientation appointment with Human Resources, which includes fingerprinting and a workplace screening. Coaches without a valid Florida Educator's Certificate must obtain either a Three-Year or Five-Year Florida Athletic Coaching Certificate.

Requirements

• Submit an application for an Athletic Coaching Certification with the Florida Department of Education.
• Apply to become an Athletic Coach through the district's website.
• Complete fingerprinting and workplace screening ($118.00 fee).
• Obtain either a Three-Year or Five-Year Florida Athletic Coaching Certificate if not holding a valid Florida Educator's Certificate.
• For a Five-Year Certificate: Three (3) semester hours in Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries and the effects and dangers of drug use, including performance-enhancing drugs.
• For a Five-Year Certificate: Three (3) semester hours in coaching theory.
• For a Five-Year Certificate: Three (3) semester hours in theory and practice of coaching a specific sport.
• For a Five-Year Certificate: A valid CPR certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• For a Five-Year Certificate: First Aid certification, including training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
• For a Five-Year Certificate: Completed fingerprinting (FDLE/FBI) with results no older than one year.

Nice To Haves

• Hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate.

Responsibilities
