About The Position
Spend your summer poolside keeping our community safe. The Colony Pool Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe aquatic environment through active surveillance, rule enforcement, and emergency response. This seasonal position plays a critical role in protecting members and upholding YMCA standards.
Requirements
- At least 15 years old
- Current YMCA Lifeguard certification or equivalent
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Ability to demonstrate required rescue skills
- Strong communication skills
- Prior lifeguard experience preferred
Nice To Haves
- Prior lifeguard experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant, active surveillance of the pool and deck
- Enforce pool rules and address unsafe behavior
- Respond immediately to emergencies following YMCA protocols
- Provide CPR, First Aid, and rescue care when needed
- Monitor weather conditions and aquatic safety risks
- Conduct safety checks, equipment inspections, and pool testing as assigned
- Build positive relationships with members and families
