About The Position

The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the pool area, responding promptly to guest inquiries and requests, providing excellent customer service, and performing regular maintenance tasks in the pool and surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing or hospitality role preferred.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot weather conditions and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Flexibility with schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Must have a valid lifeguard certification.
  • Must have completed the Red Cross Lifeguard Training or other equivalent training programs.
  • Ability to administer first aid and CPR on a priority basis.
  • Ability to perform water rescues and handle emergency situations calmly.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining equipment and recreation facilities, particularly pool areas.
  • Good communication and observation skills, with the ability to maintain adequate records and complete reports
  • Identification that establishes identity.
  • Identification that establishes the right to work in the United States.
  • Southern Nevada Food Handler’s Safety Card
  • CPR certification
  • Lifeguard Certification

Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent service to guests and can respond quickly and efficiently in any situation.
  • Works in accordance with departmental and property policy, practices, and procedures.
  • Provides guests with safety by observing water and deck area, responding to emergency situations as needed and quickly securing deck in inclement weather situations.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the water.
  • Advise swimmers of improper activities or danger in accordance with company regulations and water safety policies.
  • Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
  • Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Able to act quickly and appropriately to secure the safety of all guests, in the event of an emergency.
  • Provides excellent customer service by answering guests' inquiries, being informed of all Silverton events and amenities, while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of pool deck and retail space including straightening and stacking chairs, collecting soiled towels and trash, moving chairs, providing clean towels, restocking water station, and restocking retail space.
  • Utilizes selling skills to sell Cabanas and day beds while maintaining organized and detailed notes in reservations log in accordance with the outlined pricing system.
  • Follows cash handling procedures (including counting the cash, charges, comps, and completing settlement paperwork as required by the property)
  • Always maintains a high level of customer service and maintains a high quality of service.
  • Maintains respect for the environment in the pool facility to ensure the safety of guests and safety.
  • Participates in pool safety programs, training, and documentation to ensure the overall safety of guests in the pool area.
  • Responds to and resolves guest concerns in a timely manner and creates solutions with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential issues.
  • Maintains all requests and complaints; resolves issues immediately and follows up to ensure the guest's satisfaction.
  • Displays proper cash handling procedures, including accepting payment and counting correct changes for all items.
  • Assists servers in delivering and cleaning food to guests at the pool deck
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a high quality of guest service according to Silverton Be Amazing Service Standards.
  • Knowledge of the applicable company and departmental policies and procedures, as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
  • Adheres to all appearance and uniform standards.
  • Maintains an open line of communication with Managers.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guests, colleagues, and Vendors.
  • Ability to accept performance feedback in an efficient manner.
  • Regular attendance on all scheduled shifts is considered an essential component of the job.
  • Arriving on time for all scheduled shifts is considered an essential component of the job.
