About The Position

CBCC Lifeguards will maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on the pool deck and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals and promotes safety in accordance with the Canoe Brook Country Club policies and procedures. Builds positive relationships with members through effective listening and verbal skills and creatively finds ways to connect them to one another and the Canoe Brook community.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old to apply
• Must be available nights and weekends for the duration of the pool season, regardless of outside commitments.
• Possesses current Lifeguard Certification.
• Must have their own breathing barrier
• Must be confident and vocal on/off the lifeguard stand.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active surveillance of the pool area.
• Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with Canoe Brook policies and procedures.
• Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and facility.
• Performs safety checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.
• Check the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving.
• Attends all staff meetings and in-service training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
