About The Position

Lead the overall operation of Colony Pool and set the tone for a safe, organized, and welcoming summer experience. The Pool Manager oversees daily operations, staff leadership, safety compliance, and program delivery while ensuring high standards aligned with YMCA values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior lifeguard and aquatic supervisory experience required
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Required certifications (or ability to obtain): Lifeguard CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer First Aid Lifeguard Manager or equivalent
  • CPO Certification
  • Knowledge of state and local aquatic safety regulations
  • Proficient with basic computer applications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily pool operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure compliance with state and local health and safety regulations
  • Coordinate scheduling for lap swim, recreational swim, lessons, and events
  • Supervise, train, and support lifeguards and seasonal aquatic staff
  • Create staff schedules and maintain appropriate safety coverage
  • Lead staff meetings, in-services, and emergency drills
  • Monitor pool conditions, chemical logs, and facility readiness
  • Respond to incidents and member concerns professionally
  • Maintain accurate records for attendance, incidents, payroll, and certifications
  • Foster a positive, family-friendly pool environment
