About The Position
Spend your summer in the pool helping swimmers build confidence and skills. The Colony Pool Swim Instructor delivers safe, engaging lessons in an outdoor community setting while promoting water safety and a positive YMCA experience. THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF: You enjoy working with kids and families You’re confident in the water and comfortable teaching swim skills You are patient, positive, and encouraging You take safety seriously and stay alert You want a meaningful summer job
Requirements
- At least 15 years old
- Strong swimming ability and comfort teaching swim skills
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid (within required timeframe)
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations
Nice To Haves
- Prior swim instruction or youth program experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach swim lessons following YMCA curriculum and standards
- Demonstrate and teach strokes water safety skills
- Adapt instruction for different ages and ability levels
- Maintain active supervision of all swimmers
- Communicate progress and feedback to families
