About The Position
Lead the Colony Pool Swim Team and shape a competitive, positive, and development-focused summer program. The Head Coach oversees all aspects of the swim team, ensuring swimmer safety, skill progression, and a strong team culture aligned with YMCA standards.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of competitive swim coaching experience
- Current USA Swimming certifications (or ability to obtain)
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications required
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during the season
Nice To Haves
- Prior staff supervision experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all swim team practices, meets, and special events
- Develop season training plans for all age groups and skill levels
- Supervise, schedule, and support assistant coaches
- Ensure compliance with YMCA, USA Swimming, and safety standards
- Coordinate meet entries, schedules, and team communication
- Communicate clearly with parents and lead team meetings as needed
- Support program growth and foster strong team spirit
