Body Shop/Collision Technician
About The Position
This position is for a Collision Technician at Jim Winter Auto Group, a family business serving the Jackson Community since 1970. The company is building a new facility and tripling the size of its shop. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, appreciates personal space, reacts quickly to changes, is a conscientious perfectionist, likes to plan ahead, enjoys efficiency, thrives on variety, and possesses both artistic and craftsman skills. Once trained, the technician will work independently. The hours are 40 hours most weeks with occasional Saturday shifts planned months in advance, and overtime is available.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Collision Technician experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- I-Car Certifications preferred
- Technical Reading & Analytical skills
- Ability to learn and operate computer measuring equipment
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
- Ability to collaborate with others effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Repair vehicles using shop estimates and manufacturers’ repair procedures
- Inspect each vehicle for unknown needs and safety concerns
- Inspect vehicles to verify final repair quality
- Communicate verbally and in writing to document diagnoses and repair procedures
- Communicate with shop manager to maximize your efficient workday
