Collision Consultant Help Shape the Future of Safe, OEM-Certified Collision Repair We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Collision Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor to OEM-certified collision repair facilities. In this role, you will partner with repair centers to ensure they consistently meet evolving OEM repair standards, implement best practices, and deliver safe, high-quality vehicle repairs. As a subject matter expert, you will provide consulting, coaching, and training that helps collision centers improve repair quality, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This is a highly visible, field-based role ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, influencing change, and helping businesses succeed. Candidates must be located near the following cities: Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, OH, Detroit, MI or Chicago, IL

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Automotive Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and directly related experience in collision repair, insurance claims, consulting, or strategic account management will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: Collision repair technician, Collision estimator, Insurance adjuster or claims professional, Automotive repair consulting or related field
  • Strong understanding of collision repair processes, OEM repair procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Working knowledge of estimating platforms and the ability to interpret repair estimates, repair plans, and work orders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify operational improvements and performance opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and mobile technology, including iPads and reporting systems.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Customer-focused mindset with demonstrated empathy, active listening, professionalism, and collaboration skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Frequent travel to assigned collision repair facilities, up to 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advisor and OEM representative for assigned certified collision centers.
  • Build trusted relationships with facility leadership and repair teams.
  • Provide expert guidance on OEM repair requirements, repair planning, and operational best practices.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to technical and operational questions from collision centers.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of collision center capabilities and repair processes.
  • Review in-process and completed repairs to verify compliance with OEM repair procedures and standards.
  • Identify process gaps from estimating through final delivery and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assess facility readiness and ongoing compliance with OEM certification requirements.
  • Implement Repair Planning Systems tailored to each facility's operations and business goals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, repair quality, cycle time, and profitability.
  • Support facility teams through change management initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Help collision centers better utilize OEM repair information and procedures.
  • Conduct onsite coaching, consulting, and OEM repair training sessions.
  • Educate technicians, estimators, managers, and leadership teams on evolving OEM requirements and industry best practices.
  • Promote adoption of safe and proper repair methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate schedules, visit calendars, and activity plans.
  • Document facility visits, inspections, coaching sessions, training activities, and communications within company systems.
  • Submit timely and detailed reports following facility visits and consultations.
  • Participate in team meetings, conference calls, and ongoing professional development activities.
