About The Position

To assist the Accounting Department with administrative tasks and general office duties. This role involves maintaining office supply inventories, scheduling employee luncheons and team-building activities, managing calendars for the General Manager and Senior Accounting Managers, and supporting various projects for department heads. The position requires building relationships and effective communication with dealership personnel, Accounting Office staff, and Hendrick Automotive Group (HAG) employees. The assistant will attend weekly Department Head/Senior Management Meetings to contribute to strategizing and issue discussion, while maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work area. The role also includes participating in required training, accurately recording work hours, following all safety rules and regulations, demonstrating the Company’s Core Values, and complying with Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous Office or administrative experience in a high volume environment desired.
  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal skills required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to learn the Dealership Management System, Spreadsheet software, accounting software, and inventory software.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with company personnel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain office supply inventories
  • Schedule and plan monthly employee luncheons
  • Create & Maintain General Manager and Senior Accounting Managers Calendars
  • Assist in scheduling & planning team building activities with various departments
  • Assist Senior Accounting Managers & Department Heads in various projects
  • Schedule meetings and attend as needed for support to Senior Accounting Managers
  • Build relationships and communication with dealership personnel, Accounting Office staff, and HAG employees
  • Attend Weekly Department Head/Senior Management Meetings to strategize on how to make the departments better and discuss issues
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
  • Participates in required training
  • Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
