About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Collision Apprentice at Parks Chevrolet Kernersville in Kernersville, NC. The role involves learning the basics of body shop repair under the guidance of experienced technicians and repair planners.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
General mechanical skills.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to pass pre-employment insurability, background, and drug screenings.
Ability to work well with others and be self-motivated.

Responsibilities

Efficiently dismantle vehicles to ensure timely repairs.
Label and separate damaged parts from non-damaged parts for repair planning.
Collaborate with a Repair Planner for effective repair mapping.
Learn body shop basics from a body technician, including operating various hand and power tools (welder, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.).
Fill depressions with body filler.
Remove damaged parts and hardware.
Reassemble vehicles after parts are painted, ensuring all repairs meet OEM standards.
Maintain clean and organized working areas and equipment.
Participate in ongoing training with I-CAR.
Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, including those for hazardous waste disposal.
Participate in ongoing training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
