About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a College Work Study Student for the Career Services department at the West Charleston Campus for the Fall 2026 semester. This position supports students, staff, and visitors by performing various administrative and customer service tasks. Career Services assists students and alumni with career exploration, job search support, job listings, and resume and cover letter reviews, aiming to improve academic success, career readiness, and professional skills.

Requirements

  • Only students who have completed this year’s FAFSA and accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package are eligible to apply
  • Be friendly, outgoing, and willing to learn
  • Have an understanding of diverse and inclusive environments
  • Be able to follow directions and communicate effectively
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy

  • Proof you’ve received the Student Employment Award (copy of latest CSN Award Notification showing the Student Employment Award or a screenshot of your accepted award from the “View/Accept Financial Aid” screen in your MyCSN)
  • Show a financial aid eligible major (degree or certificate program) declared with the CSN Office of the Registrar.
  • Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term to qualify for employment within the academic year.
  • Show degree compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired.
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment.
  • Students cannot work another part-time position within NSHE at the same time they are employed as a CSN College Work Study student.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and transfer calls using a multi-line phone system
  • Make copies, shred documents, and fax paperwork
  • Post employment information and upcoming Career Services events around campus
  • Assist walk-in students, faculty, and community members
  • Direct students to appropriate departments in person and/or by telephone
  • Participate in and assist with on-campus and virtual events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
