About The Position

This position aids students and staff in the Academic Advising Department by completing various administrative and support duties. The office assists students with essential needs such as choosing courses, declaring majors, enrolling, and answering general questions. This role is for the Fall 2026 semester and requires up to 20 hours per week at an hourly rate of $14.00. The services benefit CSN students and staff, and the experience supports degree/certificate programs like Psychology-AA, Education-AA, and Business-AB.

Requirements

  • Only students who have completed this year’s FAFSA and Accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package are eligible to apply
  • Must upload Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) – Proof you’ve received the Student Employment Award (copy of CSN Award Notification or screenshot of accepted award)
  • Must have a financial aid eligible major (degree or certificate program) declared with the CSN Office of the Registrar
  • Must meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Progress after each semester/term to qualify for employment within the academic year
  • Must show degree compliant enrollment for each semester/term for which funding is desired
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment
  • Cannot work another part-time position within NSHE at the same time they are employed as a CSN College Work Study student
  • Must be U.S. citizens and aliens authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Answering and transferring calls on multi-line phone
  • Retrieving and responding to voicemails
  • Filing paperwork, data entry, and archiving old files
  • Assisting walk-in students
  • Helping manage appointments
  • Participating and assisting in campus events
  • May manage/assist with Social Media accounts
  • Additional duties as assigned
