About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a motivated student for a College Work Study position within the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Development (SBED) division for the Fall 2026 semester. SBED is a state and grant-funded division dedicated to assisting established entrepreneurs and businesses across Nevada through its economic gardening program. This program connects business owners with market research, data-driven insights, and strategic tools to foster growth and job creation. SBED also offers peer counseling, educational workshops, networking opportunities, and specialized services to strengthen and scale small businesses. The CSN Entrepreneurship Center, operated by SBED at the North Las Vegas campus, serves as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurial learning. It provides students with opportunities to develop business ideas, build entrepreneurial skills, and gain practical experience through workshops, mentoring, competitions, and hands-on learning activities.

Requirements

  • Only students who have completed this year’s FAFSA and accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package are eligible to apply

  • Proof you’ve received the Student Employment Award (copy of latest CSN Award Notification showing the Student Employment Award or a screenshot of your accepted award from the “View/Accept Financial Aid” screen in your MyCSN)
  • Be enrolled in at least 6 credits and meet additional eligibility requirements of the Silver State Regents Service Program for summer semester/term employment.
  • Students cannot work another part-time position within NSHE at the same time they are employed as a CSN College Work Study student.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting students visiting the CSN Entrepreneurship Center, including managing student sign-in, maintaining the cleanliness of the space, and monitoring the use of computers and other equipment
  • Assisting with the preparation of marketing materials, social media content, and promotional flyers
  • Promoting SBED programs, events, and Entrepreneurship Center resources to the CSN community
  • Setting up the Entrepreneurship Center for workshops, meetings, and special events, while providing basic technical support for presenters and guests as needed
  • Assisting with the setup and execution of on-campus events and outreach activities
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the SBED Director

Benefits

  • Hourly Rate of Pay: $14.00
