About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking Federal Work Study Students for the Office of Student Government and Leadership Development to provide excellent customer service. These students will act as ambassadors for their respective campuses, championing a peaceful and friendly work environment. Campus Life hosts events to educate, advocate, engage, and support students, and also provides free basic need resources such as groceries, professional clothing, and bus passes. This role is ideal for students who enjoy interacting with and assisting others.

Requirements

Must have completed this year’s FAFSA and accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package.
Microsoft Office knowledge/experience.
Be friendly, outgoing, and willing to learn.
Have a good understanding of diverse multicultural environments.
Ability to follow directions and communicate well.
Be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.
Ability to complete assigned projects on your own.
Work well in a team setting with extended co-workers and staff.
Good knowledge of CSN's basic need services and campus departments.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

Prior customer service experience.
Creativity and/or artistic skills for designing promotional materials, updating bulletin boards, and posting flyers.
Computer skills; tech-savvy individual who can pick up on a computer easily and learn new programs quickly.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to all visitors.
Assist Administrative Assistant/Coordinator in the execution, setup, and clean up of Charleston Campus Life events.
Help maintain organization and cleanliness of designated department spaces such as office area, pantry, fridge, storage areas, etc.
Assist with inventory of donations and purchases.
Create promotional materials for events hosted by Campus Life.
Utilize social media platforms to market events and current promotions.
Update designated bulletin board.
