About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking eligible students for a College Work Study position in the CSN Libraries at the Henderson Campus for the Fall 2026 semester. This role provides customer service to students and staff, assisting with library operations and general office equipment. Federal Work Study students in this role will act as student ambassadors, contributing to a positive and friendly campus environment. Eligibility requires completion of the current year's FAFSA and acceptance of the Student Employment Award in the Financial Aid Package.

Requirements

Computer experience
Ability to alphabetize with accuracy and speed
Ability to push heavy book carts up to but not to limited to 50 pounds
Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and/or sit for long periods of time
Dependability and punctuality are a must
Must have completed this year’s FAFSA and accepted the Student Employment Award in their Financial Aid Package
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits (for summer semester/term employment)
Cannot work another part-time position within NSHE at the same time

Nice To Haves

Customer service skills preferred
Ability to interact and communicate well with others in person and over the telephone
Ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and courtesy preferred
Basic office equipment troubleshooting skills also preferred

Responsibilities

Checking library materials in and out to library users using automated library information systems
Shelving library materials multiple times a day, performing shelf-reading and dusting of assigned sections as scheduled
Issuing new and replacement library cards to patrons
Answering and transferring calls on multi-line phone
Assisting walk-in students in the use of general office equipment, printing and/or various computer related issues
Performing daily cleaning and dusting
Additional duties as assigned
